At MANUP, we believe that leadership is not just about potential—it’s about opportunity.

The Roderick E. Walker Scholarship Fund is dedicated to empowering emerging leaders by removing financial barriers that stand in the way of their growth and success.

Named in honor of Mr. Roderick E. Walker, the father of our co-founder Andre Walker, this scholarship celebrates a man whose legacy embodies resilience, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting others. Mr. Walker was a devoted father, husband, pastor, and community leader—a man of integrity who believed deeply in the mission of MANUP and the power of developing people for a greater future.

This scholarship fund is designed to provide financial support to young men striving to lead with integrity, purpose, and excellence. Whether pursuing higher education, vocational training, or entrepreneurial endeavors, this fund serves as a catalyst for their success, ensuring that leadership and opportunity go hand in hand.

Who It Serves

The Roderick E. Walker Scholarship Fund is specifically designed for young men who demonstrate leadership potential, academic commitment, and/or a dedication to personal and professional growth. The fund prioritizes:

  • First-generation college students who need financial assistance pursuing degrees in Business & Entrepreneurship, Education, Social Work & Counseling, Sports Management & Coaching, and Nonprofit Leadership & Public Administration, equipping them to lead with integrity and create lasting community impact.

  • Aspiring entrepreneurs building businesses that uplift their communities.

  • Young professionals seeking certifications or vocational training to enhance their leadership skills.

  • Students dedicated to community impact through service, mentorship, and advocacy.

How It Works

Through strategic partnerships, donor contributions, and fundraising efforts, the Roderick E. Walker Scholarship Fund will offer annual awards to selected recipients who embody the principles of leadership, perseverance, and service. Applicants must submit an essay detailing their personal journey, leadership philosophy, and vision for impacting their community.

Beyond financial support, recipients receive one free year of MANUP membership, gain access to leadership development resources, and connect with the MANUP professional network—equipping them with the tools and mentorship needed to succeed.
